The company plans to build 1,750 signature homes in two neighborhoods on 991 acres.
Home builder Taylor Morrison has started land development on what will become a 1,750-home community in LWR.
The company plans to build two neighborhoods on 991 acres. Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch, one of its signature Esplanade resort lifestyle and golf developments, and Park East at Azario, with single-family homes.
The Manatee County Commission in October approved what was then called Lakewood Ranch 1000, located a quarter-mile south of State Road 64 and on the east side of Lorraine Road. Those plans included a 150-acre golf course and 248 acres of open space.
Schroeder-Manatee Ranch Inc., the developer of master-planned Lakewood Ranch, sold the land to the home builder for $39.29 million late last year, according to court records.
The first models for Azario Lakewood Ranch are planned for early 2020, Taylor Morrison said. Pricing for the homes has not been set.
Residents of Esplanade at Azario will have access to a private 18-hole golf course and such planned resort amenities as a wellness center, culinary center, resort-style pool, Bahama bar and sports courts, with a full-time lifestyle manager on site. Residents of Park East will have access to planned amenities within their neighborhood, the company said.
Scottsdale, Arizona-based Taylor Morrison builds in a number of communities in Manatee and Sarasota counties.
